BWH vs Garden Hills

Our next meet is at home against Garden Hills on Tuesday, June 11 at 5:30 PM. Check in opens at 4:00 PM and warm ups begin at 4:30 PM. We ask that all swimmers arrive at the pool by 4:00 PM. 

"Greenout Night"

Tuesday night will be Greenout Night! We are asking everyone to wear green to the meet! Wear your colors loud and proud, and see if you can out-green your neighbor! Let’s create a sea of green on the pool deck on Tuesday!

PLEASE DECLARE

If you have not yet done so, please declare your swimmer’s status for this meet- Attending or Not Attending.

Many parents have approached us asking what they can do to help out with the team. Volunteering for a job at swim meets is crucial to running successful meets but, declaring your swimmer’s status early is one of the most important things you can do to reduce the pre-meet workload. We are all parents and we understand that life happens and sometimes a last minute change cannot be avoided, but every single change requires effort and time which is in short supply as the meet approaches. Avoiding unnecessary last minute additions or scratches helps us tremendously. PLEASE declare early and if you must make a change, please let us know as soon as possible.

This Saturday we’ll be sending out an Entry Status report. This sheet will list all of the swimmers that will be entered in the meet and will only include swimmers who have declared "Attending". If your child’s name is not listed, your child will not be entered in the meet. Please review the list carefully and let us know as soon as possible if your child needs to be added to the lineup.

11 and up Braves game on Thursday June 13 - NO AFTERNOON PRACTICE

Our 11 and up swimmers and coaches will be going to an afternoon Braves game on Thursday, June 13, so all afternoon practices will be canceled. Please remember to RSVP on Swimtopia if your swimmer would like to go to the game. Parents and siblings are welcome. Transportation to the stadium will be provided by coaches and parents immediately following morning practice.

Inclement weather and text alerts

We’ve been very lucky weather-wise so far this season, but if the forecasts are to be believed, that may be changing in the coming days. There is no swimming for thirty minutes after the last sound of thunder and/or the last flash of lightning. The pool deck must be cleared in the event of lightning (it’s a good idea in the event of thunder, too). Please check the weather and check for communications from the team before coming to practice or meets.

The quickest, easiest way to get weather-related updates for practices and meets is the Remind text alert system. Please make sure you are signed up as we enter a period of dicey forecasts.

To sign up for Remind text alerts, simply text @gccgdk to 810-10. You will receive a confirmation text verifying you’re in the system.

As the meet nears, we will send an email with information about our weather contingency plans in case of a weather delay.
